Akeem Olasunkanmi SHITTU is a professor in the Department of Haematology, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin with 16 years university teaching, research and administrative experience. He has served as acting Head of Department and Faculty Representatives to many faculties in the university. His area of research interest covers Red Blood Cell Biology, Blood Transfusion and Haematological Oncologies. He has to his credit over 50 publications in reputable outlets covering local, national and international journals, edited conference proceedings and chapters in books. He has successfully supervised over 10 dissertations for National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He has also won a number of research grants. He is a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria.
