Dr. (Mrs.) Khadijat Olaitan Omokanye is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in the Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin / University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital. She earned her medical degree from the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

She trained as a Haematologist and became a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) in 2015 and of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCPath) in 2014. She also holds a Master’s degree in Health Planning and Management (MHPM) from the University of Ilorin.

Her research interests include Haemato-oncology, anaemias, sickle cell disease and haemoglobinopathies.

Dr. Omokanye has served as a member of the Ethics Research Committee of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital and as the Residency Training Coordinator in the Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion.

She has authored over twenty publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and is an active member of several professional bodies. She has contributed to the University in various capacities and currently serves as the Acting Director of the Molecular Diagnostics and Research Laboratory (MDRL).
